Does my 15yr old son need to file? He received a SSA-1099, Box 3 and box 5 each = $5554. Box 4 and box 6 each = $0. No other income of any type. I am claiming him.

I need to KNOW - YES or NO - Does he need to file?

No, he does not need to file. Social Security is not taxable if there is no other income.

And then nobody needs to report it.
