Does full time student from January 2021-May 2021 count as 5 months for full time status for the year, if the semester ended in Mid-may?

Child was full time for the entire 2020-2021 school year at university but then took off the rest of 2021

Yes----the student attended for part of five months, so they are a full-time student for 2021.
