Does a federal extension filing count as one of five e-filings?

I need to file three final returns and two extensions, is this my five e-filings or does filing the extension+final count as one?

In TurboTax Desktop, filing a federal extension does not count as one of the five e-filings because you need to print and mail the extension form. Therefore, you can file three final returns and two extensions without exceeding the five e-filing limit. For more details, refer to TurboTax Extension Filing.

What if you efile an extension through the Turbotax Easy Extension site?

Does that count against the 5 efile limit in Turbotax Desktop?

The Easy Extension takes you online to file the extension, so it doesn't count as a 'filing' from your desktop program.

If you make an extension payment via IRS taxpay or EFTPS, then you do not even have to file a form, the mere fact that you made an extension payment gets you the extension. The same goes for CA state but I don't about other states.
