Do you need more than 1 account if you and your wife want to file separately or can you use the same turbo tax account?

If you are using TurboTax Online you need two separate accounts. A TurboTax Online account can only be used for one tax return.

Yes, using two accounts is the only way to file as married filing separately. You have to do it that way. You cannot file two separate tax returns with one account.

You can have up to five accounts with the same email address, or you can use a different email address for each account.

When you file as married filing separately, you each file your own separate tax return. TurboTax does not link the two tax returns in any way.
