Do we calculate the amount of alimony given per month for yr 2023, or just give the amount received for each month? I know it's a dumb question but it's my first time.

The amounts given or received are the total for 2023.

To enter Alimony payments received -

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to Less Common Income
On Alimony Received, click the start or update button

Alimonies for divorces and separations finalized after 2018 are no longer taxable or deductible.

alimony paid/received may not be taxable or deductible. if it isn't, nothing is reported. This is true for any divorce or separation agreement executed after 2018 or any such instrument executed before 2019 and modified after that date.
