I am logging in via the email I used last year. I do not know the "login id" but got on here via that email. After having to fake my way through part of an online return I finally got to Your Tax Returns and Documents which shows nothing. Not true of course. So yeah I screwed up with not getting the tax file saved but I know Intuit must have them. Right?
If you used desktop software downloaded/installed from a CD to your own computer, then the tax files are stored locally on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive. They are not stored online. If you cannot recover them due to a hard drive failure, etc. you can get a free transcript from the IRS or for a fee of $43, an actual copy of your tax return.
wrong. turbotax has no copies of any return done using the desktop app. The IRS does through about 2016 or so. you can get a transcript by registering online or filing form 4506-T. a full copy will cost you and can be obtained by filing form 4506 (notice no T)
