Do I need to upload a w2 where the income is non taxable

IF you meet the filing threshold for income or want to file to get a tax refund, then yes, you should always enter or upload a W-2, because it has been reported to Social Security and the IRS by your employer and they expect your filing to match theirs.  If your income is below the filing threshold, then you do not need to file a tax return at all.  See the IRS website articles at

if you are not sure whether you need to file.

Yes, you should upload your W-2 and possibly file a return even if you are below the filing threshold. One reason to do so is to get a refund of any federal and state withholding from your paycheck. For more information, please click here

 

To enter your W-2, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. Navigate to the W-2 section:
