Do I need to complete the wages part if SSA was my only income and do I need income to file electronically

If you only get ssi or SS or SSDI or SSA-1099 it is not taxable and you do not have to file a return.  If you still want to efile a return you can add $1 of interest.  It won't affect your return.  Enter a fake 1099Int for $1.

No, if you don't have a W-2 form, you don't have enter anything in the wages section. If Social Security is your only income, you don't have to file a return at all.
