Do i need to add my Texas unemployment benefits to my return? TWC says they send it directly to the IRS?

Yes, you need to report your unemployment benefits received from the Texas Workforce Commission on your tax return.

When TWC said that they sent the information directly to the IRS, they meant that they have filed a copy of your form 1099-G with the IRS. The IRS will use the information on that form to match with what you report on your tax return.
