Do i have to file tax return 2017

Hello

my wife and I are over 65 years and  married filing jointly.  My only taxable income is 1099R from my required min distribution, and it is only about $2000.  Total social security benefits are non-taxable, because it is way below $32000.  I dont have any tax due or refund.  My question is do I still need to file tax return in 2017?

thank you

Probably not, since your income is primarily from Social Security. For more information, please see When Does a Senior Citizen on Social Security Stop Filing Taxes?
