Do I have to file local taxes separately or does it automatically get taken out of my check?

If you paid Local Tax from your paycheck, you would see this in on your W-2 in Boxes 18-20.

 

If so, TurboTax will prompt you to prepare a Local Tax Return in your State interview.

 

If not, you will have to file your Local Tax Return separately.
