Do I have to file? I had a contract position out of state that started December 2023, I made less than $100 for job, do I file this?

I lived in Florida at the time. This job has not given me any tax forms due to making less than $600.

Yes, you will file that income assuming you have other income that together totals more than the gross income threshold for your filing status.  See below for an extract from Publication 501, Table 1.  That income would be cash income for your self-employment business.

In the "Self-employment" topic after entering your business identifying information, you will have the opportunity to enter income and then expenses that may offset all of that business income.

Here are gross income thresholds for filing a federal tax return:

single

under 65                                     $13,850

65 or older                                  $15,700

head of household

under 65                                      $20,800

65 or older                                  $22,650

married filing jointly***

under 65 (both spouses)          $27,700

65 or older (one spouse)          $29,200

65 or older (both spouses)       $30,700

married filing separately

any age                                             $5

qualifying surviving spouse

under 65                                    $27,700

65 or older                                $29,200
