Do i have to file a return thats less then 1000.00

also i live in new york , i earned that money through a temp agency based in california do i have to file this w2 form?

You'd have to check with UT residency laws.

No, you do not.  But if there's an amount in box 2 of your W-2, Federal Income Tax Withheld, you may want to because you'll most likely get that money back, unless you have an outstanding federal debt.

Thank you very much but just for clarity sake , because the company is based in California do i file a return for that state though i never lived there.
