Do i have to add my 1099 c to my income if the canceled debt was for my primary residence

Yes, you still need to report it 

EDITED 1/18/2017 --The provision to exclude it from income on a personal residence ended with return prior to 1/1/2017.

you are correct and I will edit my answer, thank you, that provision stopped end of 2016.
