Do I get two separate returns? One for federal and one for state?

Showing I get 2 separate amountshower back (one for federal and one for state) do I get ALL of that back? The total of the two? Or just the federal return? I'm confused..

You file two returns. One to the Feds, which is the IRS. The other return you file is for the state your in. YES, you get two checks. Federal refund is usually a bigger one. The state, depending on what state, can take a little longer to get.

But to answer your question, YES YOU GET THOSE TWO AMOUNTS!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS!!!

You can track your Federal refund by going to "Where's my Refund" and your state check can be tracked also. Google your States department of Revenue and they should have a similar tool to check the status of your state refund.
