So sorry you've had this difficulty with Support.  I'm not a TurboTax employee; I'm a user like you.

I'm a bit confused about your 2018 return.  You began your return in the Free Edition and don't know how to upgrade to the Self-Employed Edition?  See instructions below.

I don't have the expertise to answer a question about evicted renters.  I'll see if I can ask for assistance from other SuperUsers.

Thank you for that info, we got it all worked out yesterday finally. Whenever I would go to upgrade I kept redirecting to the free version and wouldn't let me upgrade for some weird reason. It happened with rep on the screen live and he wasn't sure why it kept doing that.

Due to past health issues, I am working on two years of returns, 2017 downloadable small business and the live small business 2018 version. But we had to accomplish the purchase of 2018 live small business by creating another turbotax account. So I have two accounts. Suggest Turbotax create a button on left menu of free version for upgrade.

I was able to get transferred to Joshua a CPA on the phone and he answered all my questions, super knowledgeable.  He also told me how to import old tax returns into the newer year. All the reps and the support staff have been wonderful.  Phone lines are probably overtaxed this time of the year.

Thank you for the link and the help, much appreciated and best to you in your tax season.

Hooray for Joshua!  So glad you've gotten this worked out.  Yours was a complicated situation.

Best of luck!
