Disaster distribution says Do not include coronavirus related distribution

Reporting from form 8915E from 2020 and it says 2020 Form 8915E, line 4, column b says do not include coronavirus-related distributions. Isn’t that exactly what this form is for? Should the full distribution amount be reported on the first box after the check mark saying if it was a coronavirus related distribution reported in 2020 check here.

It depends. You will leave line 4 column B blank as instructed. This is for other disaster distributions other than Coronavirus distributions.

Instead you will record information in either the second or third parts of the 8915E depending on the type of plan the distribution is made from. This will record in Part 11 and part 111 of the 8915F, which specifically addresses Coronavirus distributions.
