DI have a 1099 DIV that says on line 1a Total ordinary dividends and line 1b says Qualified dividends. Question: which do you enter in your 1040.

You have to enter both boxes.   Box 1b is only the portion (or all) of 1a that is taxed as qualified dividends.  They get taxed as Capital Gains.

Enter a 1099-Div under
