Delete my account, keep my Tax Data?

I am trying to delete my account and have already looked through the community. I am well aware that IRS regulation, states you must keep copies of tax returns filed for 3 years in TurboTax Online. However, what does that have to do with my account information? Why can't you delete my account, the data associated with it, and keep the copies? What happens after 3 years? Is it then deleted?  Furthermore, WHY is is hard to reach anyone for help even via email? Having a paid account disqualifies me from even requesting to have my account deactivated? Make it make sense.

You will need to contact TurboTax support and speak with an agent to deactivate an online account.

When I click the first link it prompts me to log in, despite already being logged in in another tab. I log in, it takes me to the turbo tax dashboard. If I press the help bubble, it brings me right back to these forums.
