Just tried E-filing and was rejected saying AGI was incorrect. Five days ago my amended return for 2019 was finally accepted. I first submitted the AGI for the amended return. Any chance that the IRS database hasn't been updated yet and my return was rejected because of this latency?

I refiled using e-file but this time I reverted to the AGI on my original 2019 return. This time it was accepted. Evidently the IRS database used for verifying E-filings does not get updated immediately. My amended return was accepted 5 days ago but the database was still using the old AGI. Looks like the latency is at least 5 days.

It never gets updated after the original tax return is filed or is filed late then nothing gets entered at all.

always supply the AGI as shown on your originally filed tax return.
Another important reason to print your tax return as soon as you file it.
