Company adds money to HSA acct yearly. We add additional money monthly thru payroll deduction. Does that additional amt added need to be accounted for? If so, where?

The amount that your employer contributes to your HSA PLUS the amount that you contributed through payroll deduction are both combined into the "employer contribution" (yes, not obvious).

 

This amount is coded in box 12 of your W-2 with a code of W.

 

The code W amount (both parts) are removed from Wages in boxes 1, 3, and 5 when your W-2 is printed. Therefore, your payroll amount is already accounted for.

 

When you enter the code W amount in the W-2 interview, do not enter your payroll amount anyplace else in TurboTax.
