Coinbase import is missing transactions for 2021. I can't add the buy transactions because TurboTax will not let you enter a manual transaction prior to 2024.

I sold BTC in 2024 that I bought in 2021. The import from Coinbase is missing 2021 data despite having older transactions. I can't add the buys because TurboTax won't allow entering a transaction prior to 2024, so it can't calculate the cost basis and gives no way to fix this.

Coinbase import includes a 'sale' entry but there is no corresponding 'buy' entry for the investment which was acquired in 2021.

Consider removing the 'sale' entry from TurboTax Premium Online.  Select the Delete trashcan to the right of the 'sale' entry.

Then enter a manual One by one entry reporting the entire transaction.  To enter the form manually In TurboTax Premium Online, follow these steps:

  1. Down the left side of the screen, click Federal.
  2. Down the left side of the screen, click Wages & Income.
  3. Click the down arrow to the right of Investments and Savings.
  4. Click to the right of Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other (1099-B).
  5. Click Add investments.
  6. On the Let's import your tax info screen, select Enter a different way.
  7. On the OK, let's start with one investment type screen, select Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds, then Continue.
  8. At the screen Which bank or brokerage, enter the 'Coinbase'.  Click Continue.
  9. Do these sales include any employee stock, enter No.
  10. Do you have more than three sales, enter No.
  11. Do these sales include any other types of investments, enter Yes.
  12. Did you buy every investment listed, enter Yes.  Continue.
  13. On the screen Now, choose how to enter your sales, select One by One.  Select Continue.
  14. At the screen Look for your sales on your 1099-B, select Continue.
  15. Enter the IRS form 1099-B information.
  16. Select long-term noncovered as Sales section.  Select Cryptocurrency for What type of investment.
  17. Select Continue.
  18. At the screen Let us know if any of these situations, select None of these apply.
  19. Select Continue.
