Client reported higher amount in 1099 misc (included previous year December compensation and refuse to fix)

I did some part time as a contractor. The client reported wrong the 1099 misc and he doesn’t want to fix it. He reported $17000 as 2018 compensation but in that $17000 amount there was $6500 that was paid, and cashed by me in december 2017 for work done in December 2017. I reported that income in 2017 taxes. How can I report in turbotax that discrepancy in 2018 since the 1099 misc is reported as $17000 instead of the correct value of $10500.

Easy fix for you since he is being a pain ... simply enter the entire 1099 amount as income and  then in the Other Expenses section simply make an entry for the 2017 income not belonging to the 2018 return ... call the category "correction to 1099" or something like it  ...  then if they IRS was to ever question it you can explain what happened.
