Child tax credit

last year there was no work requirement in order to receive the child tax credit. For our 2022 taxes will that be the same ? If I did NOT work in 2022 will I receive the child tax credit this year ?

For the refundable portion of the child tax credit you must have earned income of at least $2,500.

If you did not work in 2022 you will not receive the child tax credit.   The rules for the CTC have reverted back to the same rules as in past years with the exception of tax year 2021.   2021 was treated differently, and you could get the CTC even if you did not work.   Now you need income earned from working and the CTC is reduced back to $2000, with the refundable portion based on how much you earned from working.
