I went through Intuit to sign up for stimulus the other day. I didnt realize my Chase account was still open. I opted for a mailed check. I would like to switch it to direct deposit to speed up the funds. Can I do this, and if so how? Thank you.
If you have filed a 2019 tax return and need to change or add your direct deposit information, see this IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/economic-impact-payments-what-you-need-to-know
The IRS does not have my direct deposit information. What can I do?
In the coming weeks, Treasury plans to develop a web-based portal for individuals to provide their banking information to the IRS online, so that individuals can receive payments immediately as opposed to checks in the mail.
I did not have 2018 or 19 taxes. I was unemployed. What I am asking is, I did the sign up on here for the stimulus check and I chose mailed check vs direct deposit. I want to know if I can change that now and where? I should be able to edit the info here, since I used this site to sign up in the first place.
Please follow these steps:
The IRS says it is working on developing a web-based system for people to give the government their direct-deposit information. Keep checking www.irs.gov/coronavirus for more details on this.
