cant enter 1099-R in TT 2019 Deluxe

I tried to enter a 1099-R in TT 2019 Deluxe and get an error about the from is not ready from the IRS yet and should be available after January 21, 2020. Today is January 30 and I updated TT 2019 and still get the error. I  need to enter this 1099-R, what can I do?

  1. Open (continue) return if you don't already have it open.
  2. Inside TurboTax, search for 1099-R and select the Jump to link in the search results.
  3. Answer Yes on the Your 1099-R screen, then select Continue.
    • If you land on the Your 1099-R Entries screen instead, select Add Another 1099-R.
  4. Select how you want to enter your 1099-R (import or type it in yourself) and then follow the instructions. You can add up to 20 1099-Rs.

I conducted a test case and was able to successfully enter the Form 1099-R

This is an obvious error in TurboTax. Why can't it be fixed? I am uncomfortable having to go into the actual form to enter the data. That is why I purchase this program!

Still Get the same response and can not enter my 1099-R. When can I expect this to get fixed??????

I am also not able to enter 1099-R information. There is something wrong with turbo tax. The message says it should be available after January 21.  I have tried clearing and starting over with entering the information but still get the same error. Is there a plan to fix this?

This problem is only affecting a small number of users.  The section for entering a Form 1099-R has been available since the online editions opened on December 4, 2019. 

You will need to contact TurboTax support for assistance with this issue.

My friend came by and took a look. The program update was coming up but not reporting an error it was just not working. He disabled my Bitdefender virus protection and ran the update again.  This time it applied the update and I was able to enter the 1099-r.

I did get to work after I rebooted my computer. Thanks for you help

Followed recommended instructions...tried all ways.  STILL get error message.

What error message are you getting?
