Can you not claim Home Depreciation in Form 8829 using standard method

I know you can use the Simplified Method for Home Office expense to avoid claiming Home Depreciation. But I like to itemize the home office use, but not to claim Home Depreciation. TurboTax automatically filled in Part II Home Depreciation. How do I delete Part III?

You can go to the Home Office section of your Schedule C and toward the end of entering all of the expenses related to the home office, there should be a section for depreciating the home office itself where it can be deleted.

However, you should keep in mind that whether or not you actually claim depreciation on the home office portion of your home, when you sell that home, you are required to recapture that depreciation for the portion of the home that was used for business purposes.  So, it is better to at least get the benefit of the deduction for depreciation instead of receiving no benefit and recapturing it later.
