Can you file a return without having an income for the year?

I haven’t worked this year can I still file for a return?

If you did not receive any type of taxable income in 2022 and you do not have health insurance through one of the state Marketplace Exchanges or from healthcare.gov and did Not receive a Form 1095-A for the insurance then there is no need or reason to file a 2022 tax return.

Without any type of earned income you are not eligible for any type of tax credit based on earned income.
