Can we file federal "married filing jointly" and states "married filing separately"?

My husband and I own a home in Alabama, where he and our kids live. I work in Georgia and rent an apartment there since I live there 5 days a week.  We have already filed federal taxes as "married filing jointly" using the Alabama address.

Can we file our state taxes  "married filing separately" with me claiming Georgia and him claiming Alabama?

Yes you can file married filing jointly, (MFJ) on your federal and married filing separately, (MFS) on your states.  See these Links for more:
