Can't put agi as $0

I'm filing taxes for the first time and I've gotten to the part where I need to add my AGI, the help page says if its my first time filing to put my AGI as $0, but every time I select "I didn't file last year" it automatically puts my AGI as $1 and says I filed last year for stimulus and to set up info with the IRS but I never did. I can't adjust it and I really don't want my refund rejected so I'm not sure what to do.

If this your first time filing a tax return and you didn't file to get the stimulus payment, you need to select a different option when you get to that question in TurboTax. Follow the next steps to get back to the AGI section:

  1. Open your return and on the left menu select File
  2. Go to Step 3 and select I want to e-file
  3. Continue to Last year's tax info and select Edit by your name
  4. Follow the questions until you get to get to the question We need to check your adjusted gross income
  5. Make sure that you don't select didn't file but used the IRS tool to get the Stimulus payment and instead select I didn't file last year
