Can't find a way to enter sale section total. Answers in the search section look outdated.

Have more than 4,000 non-covered sales for crypto.

Please see the TurboTax FAQ: How do I enter a large number of stock transactions in TurboTax Online? This also applies to a large number of Crypto transactions.

I read and tried to follow the directions several times but I always seem to reach the 1099-B entering page with no option for entering "Sales section totals". Why can't I find a direct link to that page when searching for it?

To get to the screen where you can enter Sales total, you need to start anew, meaning you can't edit or review transactions you have already entered.  Instead, from the Income & Expenses page (TurboTax online), follow these steps:

  1. Select Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, etc.,
  2. from the screen Your investment sales summary,
  3. select Add more sales,
  4. then select your investment type,
  5. select Continue, then select I'll type it myself,
  6. enter your brokerage information,
  7. then respond to the questions about your sales,
  8. on the screen Now, choose how to enter your sales, you will have the option to enter a Sales section total,
  9. you will probably need to go back and delete a previous entry if it is no longer needed.
