There are some returns that had issues with electronic filing if they were claiming the Minnesota Certificate of Rent Paid.   If that is the case and you are claiming the credit, please go back to the Minnesota Certificate of Rent Paid (CRP).

Review the entries for the Renter's Name. Remove any characters other than letters, numbers, and hyphens, and you can re-transmit the return at any time.  Once you make the necessary changes, re-submit your return electronically.

If this error continues, you may want to file this return via U.S. Mail. To file your state return, print it and mail to the appropriate taxing authority.

Thanks, but that isn't the issue. I said, after I verify my address, the next screen/question the page is blank. There is nothing there. It's just a white screen, can't do anything because nothing is on it. I just tried again, its still broke. I'm gonna have to go somewhere else soon because it shouldn't take this long for them to fix it. I reported it a week ago.

Try this:

  1. Download the TTCleanStatesTool.zip file and save it to your desktop or other easy-to-find location.
  2. Double-click to open the zip folder.
  3. Extract the contents of the folder to your desktop and open the extracted folder.
  4. Right-click the downloaded file (TTCleanStates.exe) and select Run as Administrator.
  5. Select your version (Personal or Business).
  6. Select your state from the dropdown menu and choose Remove (if you're having problems with multiple states, choose Remove all States).
  7. Once the tool finishes removing the state return(s), close it and reopen TurboTax.
  8. Follow the prompts to update TurboTax at the prompt. It should start downloading your state.
    • If it doesn't, select the State Taxes tab and download it from there.
