Can someone tell me why I can't file this year due to 2019? I don't have access to that year due to my ex husband filing my children and I. Why does that affect me now?

I keep getting rejected and don't understand why when he filed us that year and abandoned us.

What is making you think you are being affected by 2019?   You do not need to enter anything about 2019 on your 2022 tax return.   If it is asking for your AGI it is asking for your 2021 AGI--nothing to do with 2019.   And if you did not file a 2021 return then you need to use zero as your AGI.   If zero does not work then print, sign and mail your return.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

I've been rejected eight times and I keep getting a code for form 8862 and the IRS won't let me file on any site. Something about not being able to claim earned income credit?
