Can someone else file me as their dependant even though I have been working since the beginning of 2021 and am 18 years of age?

yes. If your parents provided for more than half of your support, they can file you as a dependent.

If someone claims me as a dependent will it affect me when I file my taxes or for any stimulus checks in the future.

If you were under the age of 19 on Dec 31 of the tax year and a few other criteria are met then your parents qualify to claim you as a dependent, regardless of how much money you may have earned during the year.

Can I get a stimulus check in the future if someone claims me as a dependent?

At this point in time, there is no answer to your question other than possibly. There is no indication of any stimulus checks in the future.  When and if there is a stimulus in the future the requirements to receive the stimulus will be released at that time.

don't mean to sound sarcastic, but what makes you think there will even be a stimulus check in the future? Do you have some kind of insider information maybe? 🙂

Laws on that seem to change daily. So I can't predict anything. But as it stands right now, dependents are not eligible for any kind of stimulus payment, and I don't see that changing either. But that doesn't mean it won't.

my kid filed own tax return last year and accidentally forgot to check the box "someone else can claim me as dependent". Hence my kid ended up getting a stimulus check. We returned it to IRS because stimulus is meant for people that were/are severely impacted due to the pandemic.  There were two reasons why I decided to return. First, knowing that IRS stimulus system was full of glitches, it was morally wrong to accept. Second, not knowing how IRS might look this stimulus payments in the future and what investigations it might conduct, I do not want my kid's future to be tainted by keeping stimulus that did not belong to us.
