Can someone claim me as a dependent if I am filing my own taxs

I was out of work for 6 months

If someone is qualified to claim you as a dependent you can still file a return.   Be sure you check the box saying that someone else can claim you.  You should check that box whether the other tax payer does claim you or not.

Yes, someone can still claim you as a dependent if you are filing your own taxes. For example a student in college that makes money will file her own return on her income but someone else can still claim her especially if they pay tuition.
