Can I verify which checking account I entered on my federal return to be charged? The tax document shows all xs and no indication of an account number.

Review Part V of the Federal Information Worksheet for payment and banking information.

Review State Information Worksheet for payment and banking information.

** If the check boxes are checked "NO" and your banking information is not displayed on the Information Worksheet, then the direct debit was not successful.

To make a payment on the IRS website, see IRS payment portal.

You can see your refund deposit instructions near the top of the Electronic Filing Instructions sheet or near the bottom of your form 1040 p. 2.

You definitely can verify your chosen account for the direct debit. It’s with the rest of your payment info on the “Filing Instructions” page of your return (as discussed in this older but still accurate thread).

Note that if you haven’t printed or saved a pdf copy, you have to use the “Add a State” link (at the Tax Home after signing in, even though you’re not actually adding a state...) to get back into the return and access the Print Center. Of course, if you’re using the desktop (downloadable) version of TurboTax, you can just go to “Forms Mode.”

@Bldcknsn, be sure to re-post here if you’re not finding it!

I would only add to the response from the Tax Expert that seeing the XXXX's is a reminder to you that the software is not 'seeing' any account data entered from the worksheet. I have noticed over the years that I have to re-enter it, as well as the driver's license data, each year.  For some reason, it doesn't seem to carryover from year to year.

You will have to enter the data twice as part of an internal verification process to ensure accuracy for both the Federal and State worksheets.

So, make sure you type slowly and carefully using a keyboard that can 'spell' and enter data correctly (joke).

Best of luck, Michael

Thank you for the response.  I believe that the steps I had to take got me there, but they are a bit different than the older string of instructions.  Here is what I had to do to get the same results:

  1. The Welcome Screen with the summary of the tax year is the first view.
  2. Scroll toward the bottom of that screen, to Add a State (This is just a workaround - you are not really going to add a state - program window will spin/update).
  3. Click on the Menu located in the upper-left corner.
  4. Scroll down to Tax Tools and click the down arrow to the right side
  5. Click on Print Center.
  6. Click on Print, save or preview this year's return.
  7. The next screens ask for type of state-issued ID information.  Click on "_____ doesn't have any of these forms of ID" for taxpayer
  8. Click on Continue (if there is another taxpayer, repeat Step 7 and Continue.
  9. Select the returns you want to print or view
  10. Under "Select which forms you'd like to print or download":, select "Include government and TurboTax worksheets (optional)"
  11. Click on View or print forms.
  12. A new screen appears with forms to view or print.
  13. When finished, Click on the menu in the upper left-hand corner and select Tax Home.
