Can I use my credit card statements to estimate my sales tax for the year?

Other turbotax "professionals" say you can, but others commented and said you couldnt. Which one is it? https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/3004141-determining-sales-tax-paid-from-credit-card-statements

Yes, you can use the credit card statements to estimate your sales tax deduction. Keep the credit card statements as you supporting documentation for the deduction.
