Can I take my 20y/o as a dependent if he is unable to work or go to school due to mental illness he's being treating for?

My son was recently diagnosed with Panic Disorder. He lives with me, and is unable to work or go to school at this time. He's in therapy 2x's a week and is getting better, but is nowhere near ready to work outside the house.

Yes you can but only if his taxable income is $4300 or less.

He should qualify as a dependent relative and give you a $500 credit.
