Can I still do my taxes if I never got and tax form like w2 and 1099

Did you receive any type of income in 2017?

If you work as an employee or independent contractor, you should receive a Form W-2 or 1099 MISC.  If you have not received them yet, you would need to contact the companies. I would not suggest you file without those documents.  As IRS also receives a copy of the tax documents ( W-2 or 1099 ), it is important to report consistent information on your tax return to avoid any IRS correspondence.   If you did not work but receive other types of income and meet the filing requirement, you are required to file.  For filing requirements, see 2018 Filing Requirements
