Can I put 1099-misc amounts in box 7 if they are reported in box 3 - to launch 8919? Employer's W-2 withheld payroll tax BUT 1009-Misc did not.

The 1099-misc was for his end of year bonus.

The Turbotax form for 1099-Misc only launches an 8919 (to pay the additional payroll tax) if the amount is in box 7. Can I just put the amount in box 7?    Further, if I do a 1099-Misc with box 3 and a separate 8919, Turbotax double counts the income.

I'd simply enter the amount in Box 7.  That will put the income where it belongs - on line 7 of Form 1040 - and get you your Form 8919.  You are not "bound" by how somebody prepares one of those official forms.  Your duty is to report your income correctly.
