Can I pay state taxes through the irs website

No.  Federal and state are completely separate.  You need to go to your state's website.

No.   You only pay federal tax on the IRS site.

 

You must pay your state tax due using the state’s preferred method of receiving payment.  For most states that will be by making a payment to the state’s own tax website, or by mailing a check or money order.

It said that I could pay taxes but it didn’t specify on there so I just thought that I could and they took the payment out of my account already so I guess I will need to get it refunded... so they won’t apply it to my state then??

Who took what out of your account?  Did you have the Turbo Tax fees deducted from your federal refund?  That was just to pay the Turbo Tax fees.  You still need to pay the state tax due.

We better start over.  Did you have a federal IRS refund or tax due?  If you had a refund did they send you less?  

 

How did you pay any Turbo Tax fees or did you use the Free Edition?
