You can make a 2022 contribution to a traditional IRA up until April 18, 2023. Make sure you clearly tell the IRA custodian that it's a 2022 contribution. If you don't specify, they will assume it's for 2023.
Don't cut it too close to the deadline. Sometimes it takes a few days for a contribution to be credited to your account.

Yes, if done before the tax deadline, an IRA contribution made generally before April 15, 2023, can be used for the current tax year and included in your return, and you can link/add the amounts by entering the information in Deductions and Credits section, then look for IRA Contributions to enter and it automatically links/adds them together. Your financial institution may want to know that this is for year 2022 like rjs just stated. TurboTax will add the amounts automatically.
