Can I import my desktop file to online to resume online

I have seen help article on "Changing from TurboTax online to the CD version", I am looking for the reverse as I started Desktop version, thinking this is more reliable based on my past year experience with online statement import lock ups

There is no way to move a desktop TurboTax file into TurboTax Online for the same year.

This is a major flaw. If you can download external documents from brokerage houses ect, you should be able to transfer your file from desktop to online.
