Turbotax made a large error in my e-file tax return. They put my stimulus money received last year ($2800) in Box 30 of my return. That was totally incorrect. That box is for people that never received their stimulus money. Will I get one?
tax prep fees are deductible, as well as filing fees. However, you must itemize on your taxes and meet a fairly high minimum to meet any deduction; I think it's 2% of your income. So, likely you'll not meet the minimum. I never have.
TurboTax did not make the error. You had $2,800 on line 30 of your tax return because somehow you entered 0 as the amount of stimulus you received in 2021. Do not worry. You do not need to amend your tax return. The IRS will spot the error and correct the amount. As you already received the stimulus, you will not get it again.
Your refund will be lowered and this will delay your refund.

Turbo tax asked me if I received the stimulus payments for my husband and me. I answered YES and gave the total amount. I did not supply 0. It was their mistake. Not mine. I want them to refund what I paid them for filing.
@kfergus999 Miscellaneous expenses like tax prep fees were eliminated as a federal deduction subject to the 2% floor starting with 2018 returns when the tax laws changed.
