Can I file W7 ITIN in-person and then e-file my tax return?

No. When someone listed on your tax return does not have an ITIN, you must paper-file your tax return.

You leave the space for the ITIN blank on your tax return and file form W-7 together all the required documents with your tax return. The IRS will process your form W-7 first and when an ITIN is issued, the IRS will write the ITIN in your tax return and process it.

What if you make an appointment in person to file the W-7 form, do I need to print out my tax forms and bring with me? Do the IRS take my tax forms and the W-7 application and file, on the day of the appointment?

You need to print out your tax return and bring it with you together with form W-7 and the required documents for form W-7. The IRS will process form W-7 first then your tax return.
