Can I file online using TurboTax from Mexico, or will there be a firewall that requires me to only use TurboTax online while in the U.SA.?

You can use TurboTax to e-file a tax return from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.  There is no firewall preventing your e-filing from outside the US using either the TurboTax online editions or desktop editions.

You can e-file from anywhere in the world that has internet access.     Are you asking about e-filing?   Or are you trying to ask about using the desktop download or the web-based online TurboTax software?

I'm confused. I live in Mexico, and Amazon.com (their U.S. site) provides this note regarding Turbotax Deluxe 2024:

  • Note: Currently, this item is available only to customers located in the United States.

In prior years, I purchased the program on a CD, but I understand that the CD version is no longer available.  Furthermore, Turbotax Deluxe 2024 is not available on Amazon.com.mx (the Mexico site).   Will I be able to download this software without gong to the United States, now that the CD as been discontinued?  How and where do I purchase it?

@jmaxwell92264 Go to the TurboTax website to purchase and download one of the 2024 desktop editions and see if you receive the same message - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/

I started the order process, but did not finalize.  It appears that it might work. At least I don't see any notification that it's only available in the United States.  (Wondering if Amazon's notice is outdated and no longer correct?)  However, Amazon has a much better price.  Maybe I wait until when, and if, it's offered on Amazon.com.mx?  But I was hoping to get a start now to analyze my tax situation a couple days before the year end (when there's still some time to adjust some things, like timing of IRA distributions, etc.).
