Can I file my taxes if I only made $5000.00 and paid into federal $500.00 and state $60.00 and do I qualify for unearned income?

Yes, you can file taxes making only $5,000 and should file due to having taxes withheld and possibly getting Earned Income tax credit.

If you have no children and have income less than $15,010 in 2017 you can qualify for Earned Income Credit.

This will go up if you have children you are claiming.
