Can I file another extension?

How much is the penalty to file later?

There is not an option to file another extension.  You'll just need to file as soon as you possibly can.  

There is no late filing penalty if you are receiving a refund.  The IRS calculates late filing penalties based on your tax liability (what you owe), and how late you are in filing.

TT 2016 Online will be taken down shortly after Oct 16.

IMPORTANT!!!!   If you will be unable to file before the extension deadline, PLEASE save your .tax2016 file (tax data file) to your computer before shutdown.  That way, you'll have the data saved on your computer so that you can still file by mail during the TT shutdown period.  See instructions for saving your tax data file, linked below.
