Are you the employee or the employer? Are you asking about W-2 forms that you received as an employee, or W-2 forms that you issued to people who worked for you?

What year is "this year"?

Have you filed a 2021 tax return?

Have you filed a 2022 tax return?

Yikes you have a big problem.  you have to file each year separately and on the right year forms.  If you used the Online version you filed a 2022 tax return.  If you entered the 2021 W2 it got filed for 2022.  You now need to Amend that tax return and delete the 2021 W2 and add the 2022 W2.  You should not amend until the first return has fully processed and you get the first refund or your tax due payment has cleared.

How to Amend this year

https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-current-year/L7eS6o1qh_US_en_US

Then you need to file a 2021 tax return for the 2021 W2 or amend 2021 if you filed one last year.

it's too, late to start a 2021 online return or use the mobile app, either on Turbo Tax or the IRS. And too late to efile 2021.

If you need to start 2021 you can buy the Desktop download here,

TurboTax 2021 Prior Year Tax Prep - File Past Years' Taxes

You will need a full Windows or Mac to install it on.

If you have a simple return and want to file for free you can fill out the forms by hand.  Here are some basic forms.....

Here is the 2021 1040 return

or if you want bigger type use 1040SR for Seniors,

2021 1040 Instructions

2021 EIC and Tax Tables

Schedules 1-3

https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s2--2021.pdf

Don’t forget your state.  And you will have to print and mail your returns.  So be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them.  You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places.  Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.

You already filed a 2022 return but you entered your 2021 W2 on it.  Turbo Tax is only for 2022 so it thought that was your 2022 W2.  Print out your 1040 return.  Does it say 2022 at the top?  So you still need to file a 2021 1040 return.  It won't let you file 2022 a second time.

I know.  I understand.  How did you file the 2021 form?  Did you efile it?  Did you use the Online version?  You accidentally filed it as a 2022 tax return.  The IRS thinks it was for 2022.  You can't use online for 2021.

To do 2021 you had to buy and install the 2021 Desktop program on your computer and print and mail 2021 to the IRS.

Sorry but you entered your 2021 W2 into the 2022 tax return.   If you filed it this year in 2023  you actually filed it as 2022.  Turbo Tax didn't know it was a 2021 W2.   You now need to fix it.  See my first post.  Maybe go to a local tax place to straighten it out.  Print out these posts to see what to do.
