Can i e-file 1099 misc before i e-file my taxes

I have completed 1099 misc for four subcontractors.  I have not completed my personal or business taxes.  Can i e-file the 1099 misc for the four subcontractors prior to completion of my taxes or must I wait until my taxes are complete?

Yes, you may wait to file your business return.

You are required to e-file any forms 1099-MISC and W-2 for your employees and contractors to Social Security before January 31. Most businesses are not ready to file their business tax returns by that date. Congress passed this rule, part of the PATH Act of 2015, to combat fraud. The date for filing these forms is not connected to when you file your business return.

Here is more information about the PATH Act.
